Day 1 - Arrive Paro – Thimphu Transfer & Gentle Introduction

Welcome to Bhutan! Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport (PBH), your local guide and driver will greet you. After a warm introduction, you will be transferred to Thimphu (2,350m), the captivating capital city, a scenic drive of about 1 hour. Along the way, you’ll pass Chuzom, a confluence of rivers marked by three distinct stupas. After checking into your hotel, the rest of the day is for gentle acclimatization and easing into the serene Bhutanese atmosphere. You can take a leisurely walk around the city center or simply relax and enjoy the tranquility of your surroundings. This evening, you’ll have an introductory session on Bhutanese mindfulness practices, setting the tone for your spiritual journey.

Day 2 - Thimphu – Spiritual Heart & Mindful Exploration

After breakfast, your spiritual journey in Thimphu begins with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in memory of the third king, a place of daily worship and reflection. You’ll then visit Tashichho Dzong, the impressive fortress that houses the government and monastic body, gaining insights into Bhutan’s unique blend of spirituality and governance. In the afternoon, you’ll participate in a guided meditation session at a serene location, such as a peaceful garden or a small temple, learning techniques to cultivate inner peace and mindfulness. You might also visit the Folk Heritage Museum to understand traditional Bhutanese rural life and its connection to nature.

Day 3 - Thimphu to Punakha – Pass Views & Riverside Calm

After breakfast, embark on a picturesque drive to Punakha (1,250m), Bhutan’s former capital. The route takes you over the dramatic Dochula Pass (3,100m). On clear days, you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas. Here, you’ll also marvel at the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens, built by the Queen Mother. Upon arrival in Punakha, you’ll check into your hotel. In the afternoon, you’ll experience the tranquility of the valley with a gentle hike along the riverside, enjoying the peaceful sounds of the water and the surrounding nature. This will be followed by a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath, a therapeutic experience designed to relax your body and mind.

Day 4 - Punakha – Fortress & Spiritual Immersion

Today, you’ll explore the majestic Punakha Dzong (Pungthang Dechen Phodrang), arguably the most beautiful Dzong in Bhutan. Strategically situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu (Male River) and Mo Chhu (Female River), it served as the winter capital of Bhutan for centuries. In the afternoon, you’ll have a unique opportunity to meet with a local monk (subject to availability) for a private blessing and a discussion on Bhutanese Buddhism and its principles. This provides a deeper understanding of the spiritual foundations of Bhutanese culture.

Day 5 - Punakha to Haa Valley – Serenity & Traditional Wellness

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the serene Haa Valley (2,670m), a less-visited region known for its pristine beauty and traditional way of life. The drive itself is a journey through stunning landscapes. Upon arrival in Haa, you’ll check into your hotel or a traditional farmhouse. In the afternoon, you’ll experience a traditional Bhutanese herbal treatment, focusing on holistic well-being and relaxation. You’ll also have time to explore the peaceful Haa town and its surroundings, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere.

Day 6 - Haa Valley – High Pass & Mindful Hiking

Today, you’ll experience the breathtaking beauty of Chele La Pass (3,988m), the highest motorable pass in Bhutan. The drive to the pass offers stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas. At the pass, you’ll embark on a mindful hike, walking slowly and paying attention to your breath and surroundings, connecting with the natural world and finding inner peace. You’ll have ample opportunity for contemplation and enjoying the pristine mountain air.

Day 7 - Haa Valley to Paro – Return & Reflection

After a peaceful breakfast in Haa, you’ll begin your scenic drive back to Paro (2,250m). Upon arrival, check into your hotel. The afternoon is dedicated to reflection and integration of your spiritual journey. You can visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples, or simply relax at your hotel, reflecting on your experiences and the tranquility you’ve discovered. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner, perhaps with traditional Bhutanese music.

Day 8 - Depart from Paro

After breakfast, your guide and driver will transfer you to Paro International Airport for your departure, carrying with you the peace and rejuvenation gained from your spiritual and wellness journey through Bhutan.
